The castle of Asolo is a fortress located in the center of the homonymous village, in the highest part of the inhabited area. The castle, as well as the village of medieval origin, is located on top of a hill that has a particular elongated shape on which Monte Ricco dominates, this unusual shape probably gave its name to the village, which derives from the Latin Acelum, or " sharp place ”. This area, thanks to the view that dominates the whole area below, has always been considered particularly important at a strategic level. The castle was the home of illustrious personalities such as the queen of Cyprus Caterina Cornero and the humanist Pietro Bembo
