Goethe's Palm, the oldest plant in the Padua Botanical Garden

The Goethe palm, a palm tree of St. Peter planted in 1585 and admired by the German writer is seen in the Botanical Garden of Padua. Goethe stopped in Padua during his Italian Journey, precisely on 26 September 1786. Here he was able to buy "The four books of architecture" treated in 4 volumes by Palladio and to visit the botanical garden.
