International Summit of Local Media 2022

International Summit of Local Media 2022, has hosted by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, organized by the Journalists' Union of Turkey (TGS) and the Izmir Journalists Association (IGC). It has started with the General Assembly of the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) in Izmir, Turkey on June 13, 2022. Forty five journalists from one hundred ten European countries, local, national and international journalists- media representatives have attented to the summit. European Journalists Federation President Mogens Blicher Bjerregård, Head of the European Union Delegation to Turkey Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, Journalists Union of Turkey (TGS) Chairman Gökhan Durmus and Mayor of Izmir Metropolitian Municipality Tunc Soyer have made speeches with debating the state of journalism in Turkey and the press freedom struggle. Local media summit have continued with workshops.
