After two years of forced stop due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Saturday August 13th, 2022 took place in Zurich, Switzerland, the annual Street Parade. The so-long-awaited tecno music event of the country is a symbol of love, peace, freedom and tolerance. “THINK” is the year’s motto, a clear encouragement to people, “because, who thinks, acquires knowledge and knowledge is the key for a peaceful, tolerant and sustainable coexistence” (quote of the organisers). At the kick off of the event, the 2,5 km of designed streets of the city were already packed of people ready to dance and follow the 30 characteristic Love Mobiles, common vans set up to broadcast music while moving through the crowd. Back in the day, the first parade was attended by 1000 people in 1992. The last one welcomed 850.000 participants in 2019, and today, 30 years after its birthday, organisers estimated 750.000 to 1 million participants from all around the world. The Street Parade continues to be a leader in the area of event safety in Europe, bringing to the city of Zurich an overall turnover of some 100 million Swiss francs.
