Traditional Horse Racing In The Gayo Highlands Of Aceh

People are seen bathing horses after participating in a traditional horse race to commemorate the 77th Indonesian Independence Day, at the Belang Bebangka racetrack, Takengon, on August 28, 2022, in Aceh Province, Indonesia. Traditional horse racing in the Gayo Highlands is followed by child jockeys aged 10 to 15 years, which has been going on since the Dutch colonial period and has become a Gayo community tradition that is held annually by the government.
