Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reinstated in Ukrainian citizenship for ex-president of Georgia and ex-Governor of Ukraine's Odesa region Mikheil Saakashvili. Saakashvili was stripped of Ukrainian citizenship in July 2017 by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. Saakashvili, who had been living in exile in Ukraine before being detained by masked men at a Kiev restaurant and deported to Poland on February 12, 2018, was banned from entering Ukraine for three years on February 21, 2018.
