Iranian people in Izmir, especially women and women's organizations protested the death of Mahsa Amini by the morality police in Iran on November 19, 2022. 22-year-old Mahsa Amini was arrested at a metro station in Tehran, accused of violating moral laws. Amini fell into a coma after being detained and was hospitalized and died on September 16. A series of protests still have continue in Iran and worldwide on as a reaction to the death of Mahsa Amini.
