Graffiti by British street artist Banksy to be preserved as demolition of buildings damaged during the war begins in Irpin, amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

People look on a work of world-renowned British street graffiti artist Banksy depicted a rhythmic gymnast on a wall of a residential building which was damaged during fighting between Russian and Ukrainian troops in the town of Irpin, not far from Kyiv, Ukraine 16 April 2023, amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Two residential buildings in Irpin will be demolished after being badly damaged by shelling during the war. Graffiti mural by Banksy, which is placed on one of the buildings, is planned to be dismantled and preserved. On the house, Banksy depicted a gymnast with a ribbon. The girl seems to be standing on a sphere, which is symbolized by a hole in the wall that was formed as a result of shelling in the city.
