On July 9, the #NYCBikeFamily staged a mass die-in at 6:30 p.m. in Washington Square Park to protest the killing of cyclists in a non-violent, peaceful memorial event. Motor vehicle drivers have killed 15 people on bikes in 2019 so far— more than double the number killed this time last year. Activists called on Mayor Bill de Blasio, along with his administration, to take action to prevent future tragedies and build a sustainable future for all residents of New York City.
