Walesa and Tusk joined hundreds of thousands in anti-government protest

Former Polish President and Solidarity movement leader Lech Walesa as well af formrer European Council president Donald Tusk joined 500,000 protesters who marched through central Warsaw on Sunday 4 July 2023 in a rally held on the 34th anniversary of the historic election which ended communism in Poland. Largest opposition party led a march meant to moblize voters against right-wing goverment. Supporters of the march have warned that the election in autum 2023 might be the nation’s last chance to stop the erosion of democracy under Law and Justice Party amid growing fears that the fall election might not be fair.
