Jordan Bardella's statements after the meeting with Macron

TRANSCRIPTION: What's clear is that today in Saint-Denis, I was the only spokesperson for France's desire to control immigration. It's clear that all the political formations around the table, whether from the majority or the left, don't want this referendum on immigration. They don't want a referendum on immigration because it would vindicate the Rassemblement National. I understand that this subject is bothering the government today, that it's bothering some of the opposition, particularly on the left. But I will continue to support this demand, because I believe it is widely demanded by the French people. And if Emmanuel Macron doesn't want to hold a referendum on immigration between now and the European elections, then the French people will have to use the European elections on June 9 to express their opinion on the immigration policy that is changing the face of our country and threatening the security of our fellow citizens. But I think that article eleven, as it stands, allows the French to be consulted on the issue of immigration. Afterwards, we debated whether or not to extend article eleven. As things stand, we want to use article eleven to trigger a referendum on immigration. This would give us time to consult all the political groups. Now, if the President of the Republic doesn't change the policy being pursued, if he doesn't chart a course for the nation, then no, it won't have done much good. But once again, I'm in my place, I'm at my post. I represent all the French people who voted for Rassemblement National and Marine Le Pen in the last elections. And we are a governing party with a vocation to lead the country in a few years' time. So, whenever I have the opportunity to express myself and represent the French people, I do so.
