Polish farmers block another border crossing with Ukraine

Polish farmers are standing at a strike post by the road, beginning to block truck transport in Medyka, another border crossing between Poland and Ukraine, on November 23, 2023. The farmers are joining the transport sector in the strike against the poor management of agricultural imports of Ukrainian produce and are demanding a renegotiation of transport deals between Ukraine and the European Union. Medyka is the fourth site where they are striking. Protesters have already blocked three other crossings for truck transport, allowing only four trucks per hour, excluding humanitarian and military aid and sensitive chemical and food goods. According to the drivers, the queue to the Medyka crossing was nearly seven days long even before the strike started today.
