Thai individuals are currently lying down inside coffins, offering prayers with flowers, candles, and joss sticks, while a Buddhist monk is officiating a ritual. This ritual, believed to rid them of bad fortune, is a resurrection ceremony marking the New Year at the Wat Bang Na Nai temple in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 1, 2024. Thai devotees are attending the resurrection ceremony at the Buddhist temple by lying down inside coffins covered with a white cloth while a Buddhist monk chants a dirge for the symbolic death.
