Hundreds of opponents of the Polish LGBT community attempted to disrupt the first ever LGBT pride parade held in the eastern Polish city of Bialystok on Saturday, July 20, 2019. A number of people were detained as they tried to block the march and for allegedly using firecrackers and throwing bottles. Police in riot gear were seen escorting the around 500-800 reported participants of the pride parade along the route as they carried rainbow flags and marched peacefully.
