Thousands of Poles rallied in Warsaw on Sunday August 1, 2021 to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising military operation of 1944. Sirens traditionally wail at 17:00 (15:00 GMT) throughout the city as part of a minute of commemorative silence, marking the time the resistance operation started on August 1, 1944. Many attending the remembrance rally in the center of Warsaw brought flares and Polish flags.
