Moon-Jupiter "kiss" On January 18th


(FILE VIDEO) A conjunction between the moon and planet Jupiter will occur at 20:40 UTC on January 18, 2024. Moon will be at its first quarter phase, and Jupiter will be in the constellation of Aries. The two objects will be approximately 2 degrees apart in the sky. This conjunction will be visible to the naked eye in most parts of the world. The best time to view it will be in the evening, after sunset. Video shows captures of Jupiter and the Moon through a telescope and prevoius Moon-Jupiter concjuntion. All videos were captured from L'Aquila, Italy, during 2023. To find the conjunction, look for the bright point of light near the horizon in the western sky. The Moon will be the brighter of the two objects, and Jupiter will be slightly to the right of it.
