Apple Becomes The World Leader In Smartphone Business

(FILE VIDEO) Apple has surpassed its historical rival Samsung: in 2023 the American company became the world's leading smartphone manufacturer. International Data Corporation (IDC) ranking is based on the market share of global smartphone shipments throughout the year. It had been 13 years since the Korean company held the global lead. Apple secured a market share of 20.1%, (sales to over 234 million devices sold), while Samsung settled at 19.4% (sales to over 226 million devices sold). Xiaomi lagged behind with a 12.5% share of the global market, and Oppo at 8.8%.
