International Holocaust Remembrance Day

January 27th, designated as International Holocaust Remembrance Day, memorializes the six million Jews and numerous others who died in the Holocaust. This date corresponds with the 1945 liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the most notorious Nazi extermination camp.
