Brazil Carnival 2024

The largest pre-carnival block in São Paulo, Acadêmicos do Baixo Augusta, is preparing to parade through the streets of São Paulo on Sunday, February 4th. The gathering is set to begin at 1 pm, with the parade starting promptly at 2 pm. The procession will follow its traditional route, departing from the intersection of Rua da Consolação and Avenida Paulista, heading towards the city center. Celebrating 15 years of history under the theme 'Resiste Amor em SP', the parade will feature performances by rapper and Latin Grammy winner Criolo, who will perform songs from his discography, including 'Não Existe Amor em SP', a song that inspired the 2024 procession. Other participants include singer Jaloo, the first Godmother Marisa Orth, singer André Frateschi, Queen Debutante Alessandra Negrini, and the debut of Thelminha as Diva do Baixo Augusta. To commemorate the occasion, the Acadêmicos do Baixo Augusta parade will include a waltz performed by musicians from the Heliópolis Symphony Orchestra, conducted by maestro Edilson Ventureli.
