A Sumatran elephant (Elephas maximus sumatranus) was found dead without tusks at a local plantation, in Nisam Antara, North Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, Indonesia, on March 24, 2024. The male wild elephant was allegedly killed by poachers and had his tusks taken.
