People in Kashmir are shouting anti-Israel and anti-America slogans, holding posters that depict support for Palestine during a Quds Day rally on the outskirts of Srinagar. Hundreds of protesters are taking to the streets of Srinagar in Kashmir to rally against Israel's conflict in Gaza. The demonstration is being held in observance of 'Jerusalem Day', also known as Al-Quds Day. Protesters are voicing anti-American and anti-Israeli sentiments through their chants. Al-Quds Day, which falls on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, was declared by the late Iranian spiritual leader, Ayatollah Khomeini, as an international day of struggle against Israel and for the liberation of Jerusalem. Al-Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem, home to the Al-Aqsa mosque, considered one of Islam's holiest sites.
