The majority of the deaths have occurred in the northeastern province of Punjab, where four deaths have been reported and five others have been injured by lightning strikes in the last 24 hours, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority. Since the rainfall began last Friday, the provincial authority has recorded at least 21 deaths due to lightning strikes.
