Phi Ta Khon The Ghost Festival or 'Bun Luang', the traditional annual festival is an important day in the lunar calendar before the Buddhist Lent, is part of a Buddhist merit-making holiday known locally in Thai as 'Boon Pra Wate'. The festival is held to worship spirits, the protectors of the village, and to ask for plentiful rain for the coming farming season of a village in Dan Sai of Loei Province.
