Human-elephant conflict in India - 07/08/2024

Assam Forest department tranquilized a rogue elephant who come down from flood affected area in search of food at Hajo in Kamrup district of Assam, India on July 8,2024.The operation started with the expert team including veterinarians on the ground. Two domestic elephants and a team of guards have been used to execute the operation to tranquilize the elephant. According to the forest officials At least 131 wild animals have died in floods in Kaziranga National Park, with 96 others rescued. Dead animals include six rhinos, 117 hog deer, and 17 during treatment.
