According to the latest statistics released by the Ministry of Public Security on July 8, as of the end of June 2024, the number of motor vehicles in China reached 440 million, of which 345 million were automobiles. There are 532 million motor vehicle drivers, of which 496 million are car drivers. In the first half of 2024, 16.8 million newly registered motor vehicles and 13.97 million newly licensed drivers were registered nationwide. By the end of June, the number of new energy vehicles nationwide reached 24.72 million. In the first half of the year, 4.397 million new energy vehicles were newly registered, a year-on-year increase of 39.41 percent and a record high.
