Buddhist devotees are offering donations to monks during a morning alms ritual to mark Asanha Bucha Day at Golden Mount temple in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 20, 2024. Asanha Bucha Day is the anniversary of the Buddha's first sermon, a day before the Buddhist Lent (Kao Pansa), a three-month period in which monks are required to remain in a particular monastery or temple grounds to study and meditate.
