Bombs planted on Independence Day in India 's Assam

A search operation is underway following a bomb threat claimed by the banned United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) in Nagaon District of Assam, India, on August 15, 2024. The banned ULFA(I) is claiming on Thursday to have planted bombs at 24 places across Assam, prompting the security forces to send teams to look for explosives. From 6 am to 12 pm on August 15, ULFA is planning to conduct a military protest in Assam, but due to some technical glitch, they are withdrawing their plan, ULFA writes in the email.
