Aftermath of the Izmir Yamanlar Wildfire, Turkey

The wildfire that started on Yamanlar Mountain in Izmir on August 15 is spreading over a wide area due to the effect of the wind. The fire is also affecting residential and industrial areas. 17 houses are burning in the fire, and 105 houses are being evacuated. 44 workplaces are also being evacuated. The fire, which is causing the evacuation of 3 neighborhoods, is affecting an area of approximately 1600 hectares. While there is no loss of human life in the fire, some animals in the villages are dying. The wildfire in Izmir Yamanlar is being brought under control and is being extinguished in Karsıyaka, Izmir, Turkey, on August 18, 2024.
