Turkey, protests in Izmir after murder of 8-year-old girl

The murder of an 8-year-old girl who was laid to rest today, has caused great sorrow across the country and has been protested by various women's platforms. The investigation into the death of the girl, who went missing in Diyarbakir on August 21 and whose lifeless body was found in a stream yesterday, is ongoing by the Diyarbakir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. As part of the investigation, 24 people were detained and her uncle was arrested.
