Yuanwang 1 Space Merit Ship - 09/11/2024

The Yuanwang 1 space merit ship is moored to visitors at the former site of Jiangnan Shipyard on the Huangpu River in Shanghai, China, September 7, 2024. As the first generation comprehensive space ocean survey ship independently developed and designed by 708 Research Institute under China State Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, it successfully completed 57 major national scientific research and test missions such as long-range launch vehicles, weather satellites and manned spacecraft, making great contributions to the country and the nation. After decommissioning in 2010, it was permanently parked at its birthplace as a memorial. Incarnate patriotic tourism scenic spot and popular science education base, enjoy the reputation of "sea science city".
