The towns at the foot of the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines were particularly hard hit by the flood. At Marzeno, in the municipality of Brisighella, in the province of Ravenna, the Marzeno river flooded for the third time in less than three and a half years. The flood wave, which arrived in the early hours of 19 September, practically destroyed the bridge over the river, a bridge that had recently been rebuilt after the flood of 16/17 May 2023. The surrounding houses were severely damaged by the mud and partly affected by collapses and landslides towards the river bed. In Marzeno, Italy, 19 September, 2024.
