Polish authorities presented the first section of fortifications on the border with Russia built near Dabrowka on Saturday 30 November 2024, amid the East Shield defence program. 800 kilometres (500 miles) of fortifications, including concrete anti-tank barriers known as 'hedgehogs' integrated with ditches, are planned to be installed on the border with Belarus and the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad while the Western officials accuse Moscow of ridging hostilities amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
