A wild crocodile caught in a used motorcycle tire swam in the surface of a river in Palu, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia on February 2, 2020. The crocodile was first seen in such conditions in September 2016. The Center for Conservation and Natural Resources (BKSDA) of Central Sulawesi held a contest that would give prizes to anyone who succeeded in releasing the trapped tires on the crocodile's neck. But on February 2, 2020, the contest was stopped because a joint team of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) was formed to rescue this week. Two years earlier, several animal lovers organizations had also tried to help the wild crocodile, but to date none had succeeded.
