Thousands of Italians decided to break the monotony and loneliness of the country's strict anti-coronavirus lockdown by joining in a nationwide Sound Flash Mob on March 15, 2020. Citizens played the national anthem “L’Inno di Mameli” ("Mameli's Hymn") or simply banged pots and pans while greeting neighbors in other buildings with light signals.
