Kanchhi Maya Tamang climed the Mt Everest for women empowerment and gender equality

Kanchhi Maya Tamang, who summited Mt Everest with the message: "Fight against human trafficking" on May 20th talks about her experiences in the program organized by UN women, Nepal on Tuesday to honour her in Kathmandu, Nepal, May 23, 2017. Kanchhi Maya Tamang, a trafficking survivor, scales the world’s highest mountain with the message, becoming the first woman to climb the Mt Everest for women empowerment and gender equality. Kanchhi Maya says: it was hard, if it was only for her she would have came back but she was climbing for all the women. In her speech she says, when she reached the peak she was so happy that tears came out from her eyes.
