Nembro (Bergamo, Italy) commemorates its 188 Covid-19 victims
In the sports field of this town in the Seriana valley – one of the most affected areas by the coronavirus in Europe – the local dead from Covid-19 are commemorated, in Nembro, Bergamo, on June 23, 2020.
The names of the 188 deceased are read one by one on the ringing of a bell. The religious function is celebrated by priests from the surrounding area in the presence of local authorities.
Access to citizens is limited to the families of the victims (up to a maximum of 1,000 people) and strict social distancing measures are implemented.
