Demonstration against the decision of Philippine congress to shuts down leading broadcaster ABS-CBN

ABS-CBN’s news anchors and reporters greet supporters gathered outside their headquarters after the Philippine House of Representatives voted to permanently shut down ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal application. Being the country’s largest broadcast network, ABS-CBN became the target of President Rodrigo Duterte after being critical of his administration, resulting to loss of thousands of jobs amid this COVID19 pandemic.
