Mandatory weekly lockdown imposed in Kolkata
The Government of West Bengal has imposed a mandatory 2 day lockdown every week to curb the community spread of COVID-19 in the city.
The lockdown will be implemented for two days every week, during which all services except essential services will be closed in the city and all citizens are mandated to stay home during the complete lockdown.
India reported a record of 45,720 new coronavirus cases, taking its total number of cases to 1.24 milion.
