The Lucerne Hotel become a temporary homeless shelter

Nearly 300 homeless men are living in the Lucerne Hotel on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, part of the city’s effort to move the homeless out of crowded shelters during the outbreak as New York City continues Phase 4 of re-opening following restrictions imposed to slow the spread of coronavirus on August 20, 2020 in New York City. The fourth phase allows outdoor arts and entertainment, sporting events without fans and media production.
