Turkey's Izmir's Hilton is being prepared to close out and it will be out of service by the Hilton Company from 16 October 2020. Hilton Izmir's commercial director Esen Kaynak told that, "Sadly news about five-star Hilton Hotel in Izmir shocked many people because it is like a symbol of Izmir. It was the most high tower with 142 meter height and 33 flors in the city when it was established in 1992. It was a sudden decision taken by in collaboration with the headquarter of Hilton in U.S.A and Izmir Hilton's company partners; one of them is Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Hilton company efforts to save employees from the loss. Many employees will transfered to other Hilton Hotels in Turkey in different locations and some employees unfortunately will be unemployeed." It is thought that controversy between company partners and the negative impacts of Covid-19 epidemic outbreak maybe caused the closure. Shops and offices will stay open till their contract will expired. Other Hilton Hotels in Izmir, such as Double Tree By Hilton will continue to give hotel service.
