Square buys $50 million in bitcoin


Payments platform Square has purchased 4,709 bitcoins at the price of $50 million, part of its larger investment in cryptocurrency, the company announced on Thursday. After Square announced the investment, the price of one bitcoin rose more than 2% nearing $11,000.
