Baghjan fire affected people protest in Guwahati, India

Villagers affected by the more than three-month-long raging fire and gas leakage from an oil well of the state-owned Oil India Limited field at Baghjan staging a half nacked protest demanding compensation and immediate dousing of the blaze from OIL's gas well blowout site, in Guwahati, India Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020On May 27 this year, a blowout occurred after the well suddenly became active while OIL was carrying out workover operations in the gas-producing well Baghjan-5 under Baghjan Oilfield. The well caught fire on June 9. On June 10, two people had died in the massive fire at the mishap site.
