Police break up protest against near-total abortion ban in Warsaw

Several hundred people gathered in the city center despite a ban on public gatherings due to restrictions put in place to combat the spread of the coronavirus. Hundreds of thousand of people have been taking to the streets for nearly two weeks in a row after the Constitutional Tribunal, an institution packed with judges handpicked by the current government, announced it's decision on the abortion of malformed fetuses. The banning of this type of abortion will amount to a near-total ban on abortions in Poland which already has some of the world's strictest abortion laws.
