A participant in the Independence Day march holds a flare in Warsaw, Poland on November 11, 2020. Participants in the Independence Day march, mostly nationalists and football fans threw glass bottles, flower pots and bricks at police who responded with pepper spray. A book store was vandalised after it's shop window was broken and an apartment was set on fire after rioters tried to throw flares at a rainbow flag on a balcony above it. Organisers had initially committed to a car parade only but over a thousand nationalists took part in the march on foot even after local authorities had banned it because of coronavirus restrictions.
