Sri Lanka surpassed 19000 confirmed Covid-19 patients with a total of 73 Covid-19 related deaths with 12903 recoveries by Friday (20) according to Ministry of Health. Sri Lankan Army Chief and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) Lt. General Shavendra Silva stated that the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 along with the Sri Lankan health authorities were assessing the situation in the isolated and non isolated areas daily, and a complete lock down of Sri Lanka was not necessary. Despite the increasing number of Covid-19 patients, many Sri Lankan businesses and service providers across Sri Lanka have continued to operate under the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health to minimize the spread of Covid-19.
