On Saturday a 27 meter high Christmas tree covered in LED lights from top to bottom was lit up on Castle Square in Warsaw. The lighting up of the tree marked the official start of the Christmas season in the city marked by dozens of figures decorated in colored lights along the Royal Route in the Old Town. This year the city, to save money used ecological LED lights and an intelligent light management system saving the city 30% in energy compared to previous years. Attractions have been given enough space so that visitors can enjoy them one at a time while social distancing.
