The Chateau de Chantilly is a French chateau located in the department of Oise. The current castle is a reconstruction of the century on plans by the architect Honore Daumet for the penultimate son of King Louis-Philippe, Henri d'Orleans. He bequeathed the whole to the Institut de France, under the name of Musee Conde. The castle occupies the site of a medieval fortress. The gardens are a creation of Andre Le Notre.
