François Dufour, Normandy Regional Councillor in the Group of Greens and inhabitants of Saint-Senier-de-Beuvron: A few weeks ago we were informed that the company Sipartek intends to install earth domes here in the municipality to feed the fibre optic and internet network thanks to the reception of signals from satellites 5, 6 or 7 kilometres above us. This is to feed what is called an arrival station for the optical fibre that passes here, in this territory, just a few metres away, and which must therefore be fed through a building, owned by the Covage company, to rebroadcast the signal. So nine terrestrial domes for the Starlink project of the SpaceX company, wants to be installed in three places in France: Gravelines in the North, Villenave-d'Ornon near Bordeaux and here in Saint-Senier-de-Beuvron. There are only 350 inhabitants in the tiny village of Saint-Senier-en Beuvron, in the French Manche department, near Mont Saint-Michel, but they are extremely determined not to let high-tech magnate Eleon Musk off the field. Especially the satellite field: it is there that, in the war for dominance over fast satellite transmissions in France, the company Starlink, owned by the Californian billionaire, should build nine big white spheres 3 metres high by 5 metres wide. But the tiny village - 350 inhabitants - does not intend to passively accept the decision. Saint-Senier-en Beuvron, 17th of February, 2021.
