Demonstrators rally in Times Square and the streets of the city on the one year anniversary of Breonna Taylor’s shooting in her residence on March 13, 2021 in New York City, USA. Taylor, an emergency room technician was killed on March 13, 2020 during a botched police raid in which police claim that Taylors’ boyfriend fired the first shot after the officers announced themselves and wounding one officer. Six months after the drug raid, the Taylor family has been awarded 12 million dollars as a wrongful death settlement with the city of Louisville Kentucky stipulating that ensuing changes in the police department procedures would take place to prevent future deaths by officers.
