The Polish health ministry imposed a country wide lockdown starting Saturday following a surge in new cases of coronavirus infections. Poland has seen its cases rise sharply and briefly hit the top 5 worldwide in absolute number of deaths. Hotels, shopping malls, cinemas, cultural institutions and non-essential services will be closed until April 9.
